JPods Networks are solar-powered overhead rails from which ultra-light robotic vehicles move people and cargo in cities at about 260 miles per gallon; without the gallon. Solar collectors over the rails gather 5,000 to 20,000 vehicle miles of power per mile of rail per day.
Cassandra has been a life-long “treehugger” and environmental activist and has found her place in BTG. After a plan to go to Alaska and help clean up the Exxon Valdez oil spill was thwarted by her parents (she was only 11), Cassandra started focusing her environmental passion closer to home. She spent her formative years starting recycling programs at all of her after-school jobs and was ecstatic to learn you could major in the environment when she looked at colleges. Cassandra has a degree in Environmental Studies and a Masters of Urban Planning – Environmental Land Use from the University of Kansas. She has spent over 15 years in the solid waste management arena, including both public and private sector and is a proponent of local sustainability initiatives.
