In order to Live Green, we must learn what the problem is so that we can direct ourselves to solutions.

NOTICE- Corporate polluters and government regulations are the real problem. They push "external cost" onto us with pollution and resource depletion.  Until we unite and raise our own standards, we cannot demand action from the big guys. We cannot support bad products, and vote for ignorant politicians and expect change. This is a bottom up effort. we must start withourselves and our communities so that we can properly demand companies change their ways and government hold these massive polluters responsible...

Lets start from the beginning.

1. WASTE-  USE OR EXPEND CARELESSLY, EXTRAVAGANTLY, OR TO NO PURPOSE.

To be less wasteful is better for our wallet and our lifestyle. To replace our overconsumption of cheap, toxic, single use products with higher quality products will save us money and give better quality to our lives. By raising our personal standards, we will be a model for ourselves and communities to be proactive with what we use and what we buy. Living a more sustainable life does not mean becoming a cave man and cutting the luxuries of our civilization.

3. CONTAMINATION. THE ACTION OR STATE OF MAKING OR BEING MADE IMPURE BY POLLUTING OR POISONING.

We honestly do a really bad job at recycling which is why China stopped taking our stuff. Contamination is so costly that it's better to throw something in the trash than to externalize that cost onto companies to sort through our recycle bins. IN EXAMPLE: Eliminating food contaminated single use plastics, or products that were designed to be thrown away and introducing either compostable or reusable products help guarantee a successful recycling and compost bin.

REMINDER : The consumer/individual is not the true cause of pollution and waste. But we are the solution

We have created these 4 R's in response to these 3 problems.

1. Refuse

2. Replace

3. Request

4. Remember & Remind
